Brian tells us he admired many of the Scx10-based hot rod builds he’s seen online and in the pages of

RC Car Action, but he noticed that most of them required advanced fabrication and machine tools. He didn’t have access to those so he used creativity and a lot of trial and error to build this gorgeous Dodge Power Wagon using off-the-shelf parts, a drill press, a Dremel, and some basic hand tools. The chassis is based on generic Scx-style frame rails riding on an Xtra Speed 1:14 scale Semi axle up front and an Axial SCX10 front axle for the rear. Brian used Vanquish stainless steel rear upper links for the front lowers and used the front lowers as the rear lowers, and relocated the shock mounts to get the chassis to sit lower. He cut custom length rear uppers to get the pinion angle he wanted. The wheels were custom made by Minsu Cho and wrapped with Pro-line Hoosier Super Chain tires, and the rig is topped off by a cut-down Proline Power Wagon cab.
