Tekin T-120 Lo-pro Servo

Tekin’s T-120 Lo-profile is a highvoltage, coreless digital servo that is meant for any RC application requiring extreme precision and speed. The T-120 can be operated with input voltages from 4.8v to 8.4v, outputs up to 256oz/ in of torque, and can achieve speeds of up to 0.04s/60°. Internally the T-120 features a set of precision-cut metal gears along with ABEC5 ball bearings for super smooth operation. The T-120 features a full aluminum housing and is Element Proof, a term Tekin uses to describe the servo’s ability to withstand rain, snow, and mud. The only thing they warn against is operating the servo while fully submerged in liquid.
What really sets Tekin’s servos apart from the rest of the industry is the use of their Digital Magnetic Position Encoding (DPE) instead of using a traditional potentiometer for servo position. This means that the T-120 provides top-notch consistency and accuracy throughout its entire range of movement. What’s more is that this DPE sensor allows the user to custom adjust the center and end points where they desire.
Tekin’s DPE also eliminates the traditional hard-stop points on the inside of the servo, allowing for 5 complete 360° rotations in each direction. The T-120’s settings can be fine-tuned using Tekin’s Hotwire 3.0 module and app. Through the Hotwire app, users can adjust servo feel, servo speed, torque output, center and end points, servo direction, along with quite a few other useful options. Tekin also includes a high-quality aluminum servo horn to top it all off.
TESTING
The T-120 servo is super fast and precise. It’s hard to explain just how quick it is, you just have to experience it. The best way to describe it is if you turn the radio wheel, the servo turns instantly, with no perceivable lag between user input and the servo movement. It’s as if the servo is now an extension of your body, which in practical use means the car goes exactly where you want it to, when you want it to. That’s a level of precision that every RC enthusiast should get to feel at some point in their RC career.
To add to the precision and speed from the T-120, it also has absolutely zero chatter. I mean absolutely none. No searching for center or wigging out occasionally like standard servos tend to do. Tekin’s DPE design eliminates all of that. It just works, finds center every time, and keeps on going. The T-120 also feels solid when in use, holding the wheels in line in under hard use and cornering. Our test car felt stable and accurate throughout its entire test run, thanks in part to the T-120’s excellent torque output.
