Clean & Mask

Now that the shell is cut and trimmed, it’s time to clean and mask for paint. Gently wash the inside of the shell with mild soap and water using a clean paper towel, making sure to wash all the detail edges and indents thoroughly to remove any oils left over from your hands or the manufacturing process. Rinse a few times to get all the suds out of the shell and dry with another clean paper towel to remove the bulk of the water from inside and out. Once the shell has fully dried, place window masks and any other detail masking needed, trimming as necessary. Since we are focusing on a quick and easy paintjob, I opted to go with a single-color theme using the included window masks, and only cut out a quick bit of masking tape to black out the grill. Be sure to place some squares of masking tape over those body post holes as well, placing them on the outside of the shell.
