Thumb Drivers

There are a few of these on the RC tool market, so I decided to illuminate the two that I felt deserved the most emphasis. The first is the Jconcepts Combo Thumb Wrench, a tiny tool that has come in super clutch for all kinds of uses with my RC kits. The tool features a 5.5mm hex on one side and 7mm hex on the other with a pass-through hole so long screws can go right through the center, a feature that has come in handy many times when installing shock posts on my RC race vehicles. The compact size allows for much more convenient placement of the tool in tight spots when compared to a full size nut driver and the knurled exterior provides excellent grip in the hand.

The second thumb driver on the list is the Team Associated FT Ball Cup Wrench. This compact wonder fits perfectly in the hand and takes away the strain of using a normal wrench or your fingers to install ball cups. This knurled portion of the tool is a decently large diameter for some extra grip, and the cutout in the tool perfectly grip Team Associated style ball cups, as well as similar sized ball cups from other brands. This might seem like a silly concept but if you install enough ball cups in your lifetime, you’ll certainly appreciate this handy little tool.
