WHATS IN THE BOX

It was often the box art that caught my eye for kits in the local hobby shop when I was a kid. There was something about the detail of an amazing box art car that made me want the kits that much more. In the same vein it’s nice to see that the TLR 22 DC 5.0 Elite box is adorned with an eye-catching car paying homage to the late, great Brian Kinwald, who unfortunately left us in 2019.

If you’re newer to the hobby, Brian heavily was involved in the off-road RC racing scene from the as far back as the late 1980’s and over the years developed an RC racing legacy that will stand the test of time. Not only did he play an integral part in developing many of TLR’S racing products, but he was quite possibly one of the greatest 2WD buggy racers of all time. The level of respect TLR showed by paying tribute to Brian and his signature paint job on the box art of this competition kit is so great to see and really captured my attention, bringing me right back to that feeling I had as a kid in the local hobby shop.
