Ask Your Father

Reader's Digest - - Your True Stories -

When our three children were young, I would put them to bed, hear their prayers, kiss them good night, and then whisper in their ears, “If you need anything, call Daddy.” In the middle of the night, we would hear a little voice saying, “Daaaaddy.” My husband would hit the floor to see what his little darling wanted. I would cover up my head and smile. When they got older, I told my husband what I had done, and he said, “All those years, I thought our kiddos liked me better.” —Helen Sparks oklahoma city, oklahoma
