1. Rinse carefully. A swig of water will help get rid of any food that might irritate the cut.

2. Apply pressure. Use gauze or a washcloth to stanch any bleeding.

3. Numb the pain by holding something cold against the wound. (Popsicles!) 4. Keep rinsing with warm, salty water. Do it twice a day to help the wound heal, which will take three to four days.
