After turning 75, I was hospitalized for an arrhythmic heartbeat and struggled with insomnia. So I ordered a blindfold to help me sleep and a smart watch to monitor my heart and sleep patterns. I was astounded at the watch’s features. One night, I woke up and pushed the watch face to check the time. Blank. I tried again and again without success. Jeez, I thought, I just paid big bucks for a watch that lasted less than a week. Finally, I noticed a flicker of light. Only then did it occur to me that I was wearing the blindfold.
