At one Alaska library, you can check out “The Raven”—then check out an actual raven. The Alaska Resources Library and Informatio­n Services offers hundreds of taxidermy animals, which is one benefit of living in the nation’s biggest wildlife playground. Amazingly, the fee for an overdue animal is the same as for a book—and the preserved pets can perform multiple functions.
