Love, Santa
North Pole
Every year, the U.S. Postal Service delivers mail addressed to “Santa, North Pole,” and the town elves get to work. They read every letter and write back, signing elf names such as Jingles or Tinsel. Last year, they mailed more than 10,000 letters to children all over the world. Donations—many from nearby Eielson Air Force Base—pay for postage and paper. Postal workers even hand-stamp each envelope with a North Pole postmark. Says head elf Sharon Beeman, “It is a labor of love.”
