A War of Words

If you find yourself in a heated discussion about words, you’re waging logomachy (loh-'gah-muh-kee). This useful term comes from Greek parts: logos (“word”) and machesthai (“to fight”). Some other fighting words: theomachy (strife among gods), tauromachy (bullfighting), and the rare but beautiful sciamachy (shadowboxing).
