During the coronaviru­s shutdown in Missouri, museum officials saddened by their empty galleries and zookeepers worried about their bored animals hit upon an ingenious solution: letting some of the tamer, more inquisitiv­e animals out to look at the art. That’s how three penguins from the Kansas City Zoo found themselves perusing the galleries of the nearby Nelson-atkins Museum of Art in May. One developmen­t that surprised all the humans involved: Penguins prefer Caravaggio to Monet.
