35. Audit Your Autopay Subscriptions

-

Netflix and Hulu and Amazon Prime, oh my! With the number of streaming services on the market, it can be hard to remember which ones you signed up for but want to cancel, signed up for and want to keep, or signed up for but wanted only the free trial. Tech consulting firm West Monroe found that Americans spend about $237 per month on autopay subscriptions. They also found that 84 percent of us underestimate subscription expenses—51 percent by $100 or more. Apps such as Truebill, Bobby, and Subscro connect to your bank account and automatically identify subscription services, which you can then track on a custom dashboard. Or spend a few minutes yourself to identify recurring charges on your accounts—$237 per month adds up to $2,844 annually!
