My Favorite Word

The list of readers’ favorite words (September) brought tears as I remembered mine. My grandmother had a stroke, and “show” was all she could say. Show meant “love you, Lori.” It meant “I’m feeling OK or sad or lonely.” We had whole conversations and could still understand each other with just one precious word.
