School bus in­volved in 3-car crash

— A three-ve­hi­cle ac­ci­dent in­volv­ing a Queen Anne’s County Pub­lic School bus oc­curred Tues­day morn­ing, Nov. 20. Ac­cord­ing to Mary­land State Po­lice, the crash was in the area of the Route 8 ramp and Route 50 east and hap­pened at ap­prox­i­mately 7:40 a.m. There were no sig­nif­i­cant in­juries re­ported.

School of­fi­cials said Bus 4417 was on the way to the Kent Is­land High School an­nex. The col­li­sion was with three other pas­sen­ger ve­hi­cles. Pre­lim­i­nary re­ports in­di­cated a mini­van was stopped at the traf­fic light and was rear-ended by the school bus. The in­ves­ti­ga­tion is still on­go­ing, ac­cord­ing to Cpl. Se­crist with MSP.

Seven of the 36 stu­dents on board were trans­ported by EMS to be eval­u­ated as a pre­cau­tion. In­juries to other driv­ers are un­known at this time.
