St. Paul’s hosts or­gan recital, carol sing-along

CEN­TRE­VILLE — On Satur­day, Dec. 8, at 5:15 p.m. Ju­lia Mor­ris-my­ers will present an or­gan recital and carol sing-along at St. Paul’s Epis­co­pal Church in Cen­tre­ville. Ad­mis­sion is free.

Ju­lia Mor­ris-my­ers is di­rec­tor of mu­sic at St. Paul’s and her half-hour pro­gram will in­clude both fa­mil­iar and not-so-fa­mil­iar carol set­tings for or­gan. There will be op­por­tu­ni­ties for singing, as well.

St. Paul’s is lo­cated at 301 S. Lib­erty St. and is hand­i­cap-ac­ces­si­ble. Park­ing is avail­able in the lot ad­ja­cent to Com­merce Street.

Blue­grass con­cert set at Mary­del Fire­house

MARY­DEL, DEL. — The Eastern Shore Blue­grass As­so­ci­a­tion will host a con­cert by Flat­land Drive and Free Range at the Mary­del Fire­house on Fire­house Lane in Mary­del, Del., on Sun­day, Dec. 9.

Ad­mis­sion is $15 for non-mem­bers, $10 for mem­bers. Doors open at noon with the mu­sic start­ing at 1 p.m. Kitchen pick­ers wel­come.

Yard waste pickup ends Dec. 10

CEN­TRE­VILLE — The last day for yard waste pickup will be Mon­day, Dec. 10. Downes Lawn Ser­vice will re­sume yard waste pickup on Mon­day, March 18, 2019. There will be a sched­ule posted for the pick up of Christ­mas trees by Cen­tre­ville town staff at a later date.

WYE MILLS — Take a break from the hol­i­day rush and come ex­pe­ri­ence the cul­ture and tra­di­tions of the sea­son in “Sleigh Ride Around the World” in the Todd Per­form­ing Arts Cen­ter at Ch­e­sa­peake Col­lege. This orig­i­nal mu­si­cal re­vue full of high en­ergy song and dance will be pre­sented at 7 p.m. Fri­day, Dec. 14.

For sev­eral years, Cre­ative Pro­duc­tions at TPAC has taken au­di­ences some­where on a “sleigh ride.” Travel with the Sleigh Ride Com­pany as they ex­plore tra­di­tions, dances, sto­ries and melodies the world over. The au­di­ence will ex­pe­ri­ence “an in­cred­i­ble jour­ney” of hol­i­day cel­e­bra­tions in this vi­brant pro­duc­tion.

The per­form­ers are from the Eastern Shore, Bal­ti­more and Vir­ginia. Us­ing el­e­ments of the­ater, mu­sic and dance, it’s a mag­i­cal show, about a mag­i­cal time that de­fies cul­tural bound­aries, and is a hol­i­day tra­di­tion for many fam­i­lies. Make it a part of your tra­di­tion and bring the whole fam­ily on a “sleigh ride” around the world.
