St. Paul’s hosts organ recital, carol sing-along
CENTREVILLE — On Saturday, Dec. 8, at 5:15 p.m. Julia Morris-myers will present an organ recital and carol sing-along at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Centreville. Admission is free.
Julia Morris-myers is director of music at St. Paul’s and her half-hour program will include both familiar and not-so-familiar carol settings for organ. There will be opportunities for singing, as well.
St. Paul’s is located at 301 S. Liberty St. and is handicap-accessible. Parking is available in the lot adjacent to Commerce Street.

Bluegrass concert set at Marydel Firehouse
MARYDEL, DEL. — The Eastern Shore Bluegrass Association will host a concert by Flatland Drive and Free Range at the Marydel Firehouse on Firehouse Lane in Marydel, Del., on Sunday, Dec. 9.
Admission is $15 for non-members, $10 for members. Doors open at noon with the music starting at 1 p.m. Kitchen pickers welcome.

Yard waste pickup ends Dec. 10
CENTREVILLE — The last day for yard waste pickup will be Monday, Dec. 10. Downes Lawn Service will resume yard waste pickup on Monday, March 18, 2019. There will be a schedule posted for the pick up of Christmas trees by Centreville town staff at a later date.

WYE MILLS — Take a break from the holiday rush and come experience the culture and traditions of the season in “Sleigh Ride Around the World” in the Todd Performing Arts Center at Chesapeake College. This original musical revue full of high energy song and dance will be presented at 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 14.
For several years, Creative Productions at TPAC has taken audiences somewhere on a “sleigh ride.” Travel with the Sleigh Ride Company as they explore traditions, dances, stories and melodies the world over. The audience will experience “an incredible journey” of holiday celebrations in this vibrant production.
The performers are from the Eastern Shore, Baltimore and Virginia. Using elements of theater, music and dance, it’s a magical show, about a magical time that defies cultural boundaries, and is a holiday tradition for many families. Make it a part of your tradition and bring the whole family on a “sleigh ride” around the world.
