Bayshoresc Ve­loc­ity Black’00/01 third in Premier Cup tour­ney

LOUDON, VA. — Olivia Owens scored four goals and dished three as­sists, pac­ing the Bayshore SC Ve­loc­ity

Black’00/01 girls’ 19-an­dun­der travel soc­cer team to a third-place fin­ish this past week­end at the highly ranked Premier Cup.

Brooke Wind­sor added two goals and three as­sists, while Abby Blan­chard scored a goal and dished two helpers. Caro­line Shilling also scored a goal, and Lind­sey Swon­tek notched one helper.

Bayshore de­feated No.

17 Marl­ton GPS from New Jersey, and No. 14 Red Lion Soc­cer Heat from Penn­syl­va­nia, 5-0. The Ve­loc­ity tied No. 9 Bal­ti­more Bays, 1-1, and lost, 3-1, to No. 4 BRYC Academy from Vir­ginia.

Ve­loc­ity was led of­fen­sively by Swon­tek, Ash­lyn Hast­ings, Mcken­zie Mo­gel, Kylie Mars­den and Tay­lor De­masi, and de­fen­sively by Ash­ley Thomas, Kayla Guthrie, Ne­fret Perunko, Leila Robin­son, Caro­line Parker, Kait­lyn Robin­son and Kas­sidy Robin­son.

Cara Cu­nane and Madi Banks split time in goal, post­ing two com­bined shutouts and mak­ing 19 and 22 saves, re­spec­tively.

Bayshore will travel to Lan­caster, Pa. this week­end to play in the PA Clas­sics Show­case Tour­na­ment.

Ve­loc­ity Black is a Premier Show­case travel soc­cer team con­sist­ing of some of the top 19-and-un­der girls from the Eastern Shore of Mary­land and Delaware, pulling from Queen Anne’s County, Kent Is­land, Tome, Elk­ton, Cam­bridge-south Dorch­ester, Park­side, James M. Ben­nett, Saints Peter and Paul, Sal­is­bury Chris­tian, Del­mar, Lake For­est and Cape Hen­lopen high schools.
