First session starts with appointees, liaisons
CENTREVILLE — The first session of the latest Queen Anne’s County Board of Commissioners on Tuesday, Dec. 11, started with naming appointees to outside boards as well as naming commissioner liaisons.
Commissioner Jim Moran was named board president; Jack Wilson, vice president.
In a unanimous vote, commissioners reappointed Traci Haas and John Mcqueeney to three-year terms on the Animal Control Commission to begin Jan. 1, 2019, and end Dec. 31, 2021. They also re-appointed Sharon Dobson to a four-year term on the Planning Commission to begin Jan. 1, 2019, and end Dec. 31, 2022.
They also reappointed Craig Mcginnes to a threeyear term on the Board of Appeals, Jan. 1, 2019, to Dec.
31, 2021. They appointed Bernard Sadusky to the Ethics Commission, Jan. 1, 2019 to Dec. 31, 2023.
They reappointed Nancy Cook, Carol Frederick, Ernestine Kepley and Mike Ranelli to four-year terms on the Friends of Historic Christ Church Board of Directors, Jan. 1, 2019, to Dec.
Dora Hanna and County Commissioner Emeritus Mark Anderson were appointed to four-year terms on the Personnel Board , Jan. 1, 2019, to Dec. 31, 2022. The commissioners appointed Dorsey Patchett and Tim Wilson to three-year terms on the Plumbing Board, Jan.
1, 2019, to Dec. 31, 2021. As sitting commissioners, all five also serve as the Roads Board and the Sanitary Commission. Commissioners also were named as liaisons and alternates to various organizations.
Commissioner Jim Moran will serve as liaison to the Baltimore Metropolitan Council, Baltimore Regional Transportation Board, Bay Bridge Reconstruction Advisory Board, Board of Education, Board of Health, Employee Morale Committee, Kent Narrows Development Foundation, Planning Commission, and Parks and Recreation Advisory Board.
Commissioner Jack Wilson will serve as liaison to the Board of Education, Board of Health, Broadband Advisory Board, Council of Governments, Economic Development Commission, Fire and EMS Commission, Maryland Association of Counties Legislative Committee, and Social Services Board.
Commissioner Steve Wilson will serve as liaison to the Animal Control Board, Bay Bridge Airport Commission, Bay Bridge Reconstruction Advisory Board, Board of Health, Department of Emergency Services, Spending Affordability Board, and is the full council representative for Upper Shore Regional Council.
Commissioner Phil Dumenil will serve as liaison to the Board of Health, Commission on Aging, and the Council for Children & Youth.
Commissioner Chris Corchiarino will serve as liaison to: the Alcohol & Drug Abuse Council, Board of Health, and Housing Authority.
Finally, in a unanimous vote, commissioners re-appointed Patrick Thompson as County Attorney.
