Hillsboro to offer curbside recycling
HILLSBORO — The Town of Hillsboro is pleased to announce the return of weekly curbside recycling service to its residents beginning Tuesday, Jan. 8. The dual-stream recycling service will be provided by Infinity Recycling, a not-for-profit recycling facility based in Millington.
“We’re very excited to make recycling service available to our residents again, and at no additional cost,” Hillsboro Commissioner Ross Benincasa said. “It’s one of the most frequently requested services by our residents, and I think the partnership we’ve struck with Infinity will be ideal to offer sustainable, Shore-based recycling at a price that’s affordable to the town.”
Hillsboro’s initial recycling collection was stopped years ago due to a lack of participation. The new agreement with Infinity Recycling requires that Hillsboro residents “opt-in” to receive recycling service, ensuring the town is only paying for the residents and businesses that are choosing to use the service.
