As the cooler weather creeps in, the sea­son for cider has of­fi­cially ar­rived. The tim­ing is right for CiderFest, com­ing this week­end to Taste Food and Wine (1506 W. Jarvis Ave.). From 3 to 6 p.m. Satur­day, bev­er­ages from more than 30 dif­fer­ent cideries will grace the cups of guests, with both do­mes­tic and in­ter­na­tional ciders avail­able. Par­tic­i­pants in­clude Un­cle John’s Cider Mill, North Shore Cider Com­pany, Virtue Cider, Van­der Mill, Right Bee Cider and more. BTS with lo­cal artists

2018 marks the 16th an­nual edi­tion of the 18th Street Pilsen Open Stu­dios event, which in­vites Chicago to pe­ruse neigh­bor­hood art stu­dios for a be­hind-the-scenes look. The event fo­cuses on artists who “work or live in the neigh­bor­hood, or have a strong his­tor­i­cal con­nec­tion to Pilsen.” The event runs from noon to 8 p.m. Satur­day and Sun­day. A kick­off event at 6 p.m. Fri­day will of­fer bites, drinks and danc­ing with a $5 sug­gested do­na­tion. The event also fea­tures guided mu­ral tours, which be­gin at 2 p.m. both days at the Na­tional Mu­seum of Mex­i­can Art (1852 W. 19th St.). De­tails: pilsenopen­stu­dios.net
