BTS with local artists
2018 marks the 16th annual edition of the 18th Street Pilsen Open Studios event, which invites Chicago to peruse neighborhood art studios for a behind-the-scenes look. The event focuses on artists who “work or live in the neighborhood, or have a strong historical connection to Pilsen.” The event runs from noon to 8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. A kickoff event at 6 p.m. Friday will offer bites, drinks and dancing with a $5 suggested donation. The event also features guided mural tours, which begin at 2 p.m. both days at the National Museum of Mexican Art (1852 W. 19th St.). Details: pilsenopenstudios.net
