One of the more popular DJ/artists out there, this Canadian performer will be bringing his arena-sized visual and musical setup for this Dec. 31 show starting at 8:30 p.m. at Tahoe Blue Event Center, 75 U.S. 50, Stateline.

Boombox

This year’s band for Crystal Bay Club’s New Year’s celebratio­ns is Boombox, an Alabama duo that merges jamband-style rock with funk and house music. They play at 9 p.m. on Dec. 31 at Crystal Bay Club Casino, 14 State Highway 28, Crystal Bay.

Jelly Bread and Phat Mark

Two local bands that merge soul and funk with rock will be ringing in the New

Year at this Midtown show. It all begins at 9 p.m. at Cypress, 761 S. Virginia St., Reno. The show is Dec. 31.

Reno Latin Dance Fest

Performanc­es are a part of this annual event that also includes competitio­ns and instructio­ns on the art of Latin dancing, hitting all the individual styles within that rubric. It all takes place at Silver Legacy Resort Casino, 407 N. Virginia St., Reno. Check the event’s website for individual times and events.

Bugs vs. Dogs

A bunch of local bands are getting together — all with a bug or dog theme in their name — for a special showcase in Midtown sponsored by Holland Project. They include Bug Bath, Dog Dog, Worm Shot, Doolittle Ladybug and Crush Puppy. It all begins at 7 p.m. at Cypress, 761 S. Virginia St., Reno.
