Woman fatally shot in Richmond lived in Louisa
A woman found fatally shot in a vehicle with her children in the back seat Friday night in South Richmond has been identified as a 21-year-old resident of Louisa County, police said.
Sherece Cook, who lived in the 100 block of Pine Ridge Drive in Louisa, was pronounced dead at the scene after police discovered her about
9:23 p.m. inside an SUV in the middle of the street in the 3900 block of Peyton Avenue, just southeast of the Midlothian Village Apartments.
Cook was found sitting in the driver’s seat, police said. She had been shot.
Two of Cook’s children, both under the age of 3, were found unharmed sitting in the back seat of the vehicle, police said. Anyone with information is asked to call Major Crimes Detective J.P.
