Richmond Times-Dispatch Weekend - - SUNDAY PUNCH - — Eric Kolenich

1. Derrius Guice

The splashy new running back was injured on his sixth carry of the first preseason game of his NFL career. Now he’s done for the 2018 season. The Redskins lost, a star player got hurt, and it feels like autumn already.

2. WNBA forfeit

It took the Las Vegas Aces of the WNBA 26 hours to reach Washington, D.C., after multiple flight delays and cancellations. The Aces arrived in Washington four hours before tipoff and opted not to play. The game was ruled a forfeit. Only 26 hours? Washington commuters on I-95 sit in that much traffic in about four days.

3. Brian France

The chairman and CEO of NASCAR was arrested this week on DWI and criminal possession of oxycodone charges.

4. Selling shoes

Thirteen UNC football players were suspended for selling team-issued shoes. The Air Jordan 3’s reportedly went for $2,500 cash. What person in his right mind would keep a pair of shoes he could sell for $2,500? Selling them was the only rational decision.
