Stadium trust hasn’t been earned
The previous administration put Richmond in a deep hole on the Washington NFL team deal, and it continues to haunt us with the $500,000 annual payment.
The new mayor, Levar Stoney, said he was going to change that. That was last spring. The team has continued to stall and not produce any action.
Now Stoney is promoting a stadium project in the millions of dollars, yet he can’t seem to get an answer on a relatively small amount like the $500,000 the city owes the Washington NFL team. The Richmond taxpayers deserve an answer.
