TAYLOR, Sandra Lee Maynard,
69, of Midlothian, Virginia, passed away on Wednesday, November 7, 2018, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Jean and Gordon Maynard; and her niece, Hannah Gershman. She is survived by her husband, Ed; and sister, Hazel Gershman Ball (Hardy). She is also survived by her niece, Sammy Jean Gershman Landolt (Scott) and their daughter, Vivian, who Sandy adored. She is further survived by several aunts and numerous cousins. Sandy loved her two little dogs, Phoebe and Jewel. Her love of art and flair for creativity showed in all she did. Sandy graduated from Ferrum College and MCV School of Radiology. She worked at MCV, Richmond Metropolitan and Richmond Memorial Hospitals. The family will receive friends from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday, November 9, at the Central Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home, 3215 Cutshaw Avenue. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, November 10, in Hollywood Cemetery. Thank you to Pam Walker and Sandy’s other caregivers at The Guest House, as well as the doctors and nurses of Sarah Cannon Cancer Institute at Johnston-Willis Hospital. Thank you also to Dr. David Trent, Sandy’s primary oncologist at Virginia Cancer Institute.
