A new sur­vey is ex­pected to show Amer­i­cans are feel­ing less op­ti­mistic about the econ­omy than last month.

The Univer­sity of Michi­gan’s lat­est con­sumer sen­ti­ment sur­vey is due out to­day. Econ­o­mists pre­dict that this month’s read­ing fell to 90, the low­est level since Au­gust, after climb­ing to 101 in Fe­bru­ary. The sur­vey fol­lows the eco­nomic fall­out from the spread­ing coro­n­avirus on the global econ­omy, fi­nan­cial mar­kets and busi­nesses, dis­rup­tions that have swiftly left mil­lions more Amer­i­cans un­em­ployed.
