The Bethlehem Lutheran Church, located at 215 Cook Avenue in Ridgway, has been operating the Neighbors Feeding Neighbors program for over four years.

This program provides a package of easy to prepare food to children in need in the Ridgway Area School District to ensure they have food security over the weekend, with special distributions during breaks and over the Holidays.

Volunteers and donations from church members and local businesses allow this program to pack up and send home over 60 bags of food each week to children who might not have access to full meals otherwise. The program is confidential, and the food is distributed to allow children to access this program without social stigma.

Donations are always welcome of easy to prepare meals and snacks like Jello, fruit and pudding cups, dry goods like ramen and instant soups, kidfriendly protein bars, fruit snacks and cans of soups, stews, macaroni and sauce, and fruit snacks. Donations of both food and checks can be dropped off at the church after calling them at 772-1953 to arrange a time.

Neighbors Feeding Neighbors is also pleased to announce that you can also help by stopping by their Bake Sale, which will occur on Saturday, March 27 in downtown Ridgway during that Ridgway-Elk County Chamber of Commerce "Hop and Shop" event that will be held all day long. All donations go towards purchasing food for this program that helps to ensure that every school child in Ridgway can have food security even when not in the classroom.
