Keystone Rural Health holds grand opening of new pediatric center
RIDGWAY--As part of its Community Day event, Wednesday, August 11, from 1-4 p.m. at the Ridgway Medical Center located on Ridgmont Drive, Keystone Rural Health Consortia, Inc. held a grand opening of its new pediatric offices.
Local and state officials, including Representative Mike Armanini, Roberta Buehler of the Chamber of Commerce, Jack Cleaver of the Ridgway Heritage Council, and Michelle Bogacki of Ridgway Township, attended Community Day and got a private tour of the new pediatric center at the location.
Dr. Nathaniel Green, a pediatric specialist, has joined Keystone Rural Health as the first Ridgway-based Pediatrician in many years. Dr. Green is Canadian by birth but has applied to become a United States Citizen while he is here on a work visa. The doctor served his residency at the Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia most recently and was trained both at the University of Toronto in Canada and the Technion’s American Medical School, in Haifa Israel. He is excited to bring his pediatric specialty to Ridgway and is amazed by the warm reception he has found upon moving to the area.
At the Ridgway Chamber of Commerce Picnic last week, after only being in the area for a few days, he asked, “is this place for real?" It's like the perfect little American town you see in movies or on TV." "I feel like this place will be my home for many years." Dr. Green will begin seeing patients at the new facility beginning on August 23, and those interested in making an appointment should look for more information on the Keystone Rural Heath website or call the Ridgway Office located at 49 Ridgmont Drive at 814-245-2119.
Located at the remodeled portion of the North Central Pennsylvania Regional Planning and Development Commission headquarters on Ridgmont Drive, the new pediatric center is filled with kid-friendly, brightly colored rooms with some amazing murals by local artists. As part of the Community Day Celebration, tours were conducted for everyone who attended the Community Day event that featured a meet and greet with providers and staff, as well as local businesses and county government agencies. Popcorn, snow cones, hot dogs, face painting, a kids coloring contest, free health screenings, merchandise and samples as well as a basket raffle made sure the day was fun-filled for all attendees.
