Elk County Fair hosts queen court coronation
KERSEY - Flowing dresses, sparkling tiaras and bejeweled sashes were the attire for the evening during the 2021 Elk County Fair Queen Court coronation which took place during the fair's opening ceremony on Tuesday.
This year's winners were Brinley Fedder, fair queen, Helayna Hollobaugh, junior queen and Angela Brooks, princess.
Brinley, age 16, is the daughter of Robbie and Cara Fedder of Kersey and attends St. Marys Area High School. Helayna, age 14, is the daughter of Charles and Brandy Hollobaugh of Kersey and attends St. Marys Area Middle School. Angela, age 10, is the daughter of Adam and Michelle Brooks of St. Marys and attends South St. Marys Street Elementary School.
Elk County Fair Queen Court Coordinator Jenna Ross encouraged those who did not win this year to sign-up for the contest again next year as scores were very close.
The 2020 Elk County Fair Court of Gina Bush, queen, Kelsey Krise, junior queen and Delaney Dunworth, princess, each gave a speech on their experience of being fair court royalty. Due to the cancellation of last year's fair, the 2020 court will also be included in this year's fair week along with the new court.
Following the ceremony, fair-goers sampled the many food offerings, took a turn on the rides and interacted with the various livestock and other animals on display.
The fair is taking place this week from 4-10 p.m. on weekdays, on Saturday from noon to 11 p.m., and exhibit pickup takes place Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
