Stella Anne Anderson

Stella Anne Anderson, age 88, of Wilcox, died Monday, July 4, 2022 at home. A daughter of the late Frank and Helen (Waszkiewicz) Gorlowski, she was born on May 29, 1934 in Wilcox, PA. On January 12, 1952 she married C. William “Carl” Anderson, who predeceased her on April 16, 1981.

Besides her parents and her husband, Stella was preceded in death by: a grandson, Mitchel Anderson; a brother, Casmir Gorlowski; and a sister, Leona Olewinski.

Stella is survived by: six children, Sally (George Nelson) Anderson of Kane, Pamela (Patrick Polaski) Anderson of Wilcox, Michael Anderson of Wilcox, Anthony (Nancy) Anderson of Pittsburgh, Andrew (Kim) Anderson of Pittsburgh and William (Linda) Anderson of Warren; fifteen grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Frances Riley of Ridgway and Charlotte (John) Nicklas of St. Marys.

Living all her life in Wilcox, Stella was a member of St. Anne Catholic Church where she was also a member and President of the St. Anne Catholic Women's Club for many years. She attended Wilcox Area Elementary and High School. She has had several employments through the years, including: Certified Nurse's Aide at Pinecrest Manor Nursing Home for eighteen years; Cafeteria Head Cook with Johnsonburg and Wilcox Elementary Schools for twenty eight years; private duty Nurse's Aide for Drs. Charles and Elizabeth Cleland; cleaning service for thirty years with the Wilcox Garage and twenty six other families; and Child Care and Babysitting for many years.

There will be no public visitation.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held, 10:00 a.m., Thursday, July 7, 2022 at the St. Anne Catholic Church of Wilcox, PA, with Father David Wilson.

Interment will take place in the Holy Cross Cemetery of Rasselas.

The Ubel Funeral Home of Johnsonburg has been entrusted with final arrangements.
