Jamestown Psychiatric, P.C. brings mental health services to Ridgway
RIDGWAY- Jamestown Psychiatric, P.C., a mental health practice from Jamestown, New York, has recently opened its doors at a new location in Ridgway.
The office is located at 20 Gillis Avenue and caters to patients of all age ranges.
The practice is equipped to treat a wide variety of mental health diagnoses and offers personalized treatment plans to help patients achieve their goals.
CEO Misty Pennington, originally from Kane, opened the office in Ridgway as a way of getting back to her roots and giving back to her community.
Pennington spent the first decade of her career working as a mental health therapist in Elk County.
Peter Coffman, MD, a board-certified psychiatrist in the area since 2001, and Christine Kushner, PMHNP-BC, will be among the professionals treating patients at the new office.
Pennington worked with Dr. Coffman and Ms. Kushner before moving to New York.
When the opportunity arose for her to have this office in
Ridgway, she jumped at the chance to have this trio work together again.
“I thought this would be a wonderful way to get the old team back together to be able to give back to the local community,” Pennington said.
The Jamestown Psychiatric, P.C. group has over 15 prescribers and offers telehealth services as well.
“Our group is comprised of individuals with diverse and dynamic areas of expertise, thus providing a wide range of options to our patients,” Pennington said.
Dr. Coffman believes that mental
health care services are becoming increasingly essential, and the need for access to these services will continue to grow in the future.
“As time goes on, the relevance of mental health care increasingly
grows with the greater acknowledgement and understanding by the general public,” he said. “It is so vital to have as many opportunities for treatment as possible.”
Currently, Dr. Coffman is accepting new patients with commercial
insurance.
