Co-op track team splits with DCC

On Tuesday, the Rams defeated DuBois Central Catholic 93-42, and the Lady Cardinals defeated the Ramettes 100-49 in track and field action at the JAHS track.

Today, the teams host Northern Potter, OttoEldred, and Port Allegany (4 p.m.). On Saturday, up to two performers per event will compete at the Igloo Invitation­al in Altoona.

Ramettes

Junior Zoey Grunthaner, sophomore Maddy MacAfee, and freshman Lilly Myers were double winners for the Ramettes.

Gunther earned 13 points by winning the triple jump and javelin and finishing second in the discus, which was won by Myers, who finished first in the shot put. MacAfee won the 100 and 300 hurdles.

Ridgway sophomore Sara Zameroski placed second in the pole vault and third in the long jump. Freshmen earning seconds were Lacy Jones in the 100 meters, Giselle Dellaquila in the 400 meters, and Izzi Lawrie in the 100-meter hurdles.

Alexis Rohr and Ally Notarianni placed third in the 3,200 meters and javelin, respective­ly - both are juniors. Sophomore Rose Bowser placed third in the pole vault.

Rams

Among the 11 firstplace finishers was sophomore Gavin Lehman, who won the 110 and 300 hurdles and tied sophomore teammate Austin Vaccarella for second in the 100 meters.

Senior Eli Schreiber won the 3,200 meters, sophomore Aiden Magnusson the 1,600, and freshman Liam Macer the 800 meters.

In the field events, senior Michael Biel won the shot put, freshman Levi Miller the shot, and sophomore Gunner Robinson finished first in the javelin. Junior

Guy Elliot won the pole vault, freshman Brennan Rupprecht won the long jump and finished second in the triple jump won by his ninthgrade teammate Andrew Thomas.

Senior Garrett Lehman was second in discus and javelin, and Miller in the shot.

Other runners-up were sophomores Jude Schreiber in the 1,600 meters and Ian Ginther in the 3,200. Tenth-grader Aidan Galsick was the high jump runner-up.

Thomas placed third in the high jump. Parker Calla was third in the javelin, and Hunter Newman was third in the high jump. Both are sophomores.

The Rams won the 4x400 and 4x800 relays.
