Boni recaps another successful Ridgway Chainsaw Carvers Rendezvous
RIDGWAY - The illustrious Ridgway Chainsaw Carvers Rendezvous wrapped up on Saturday afternoon, as carvers from all over the country and the world streamed into Ridgway to display their carving talents.
Throughout the four day signature event for Ridgway, there was live carving, artists and crafters, food vendors, wineries and breweries, and a lineup of live entertainment that included John Michalowski, Matt Silvia, Billy Mac, Mike DeStefano, White Feather, Irelynn Fink & Caleb Leonard, High River Valley, and the SleepWalker band.
Quick carve demonstrations were also put on by these expert carvers, and attendees had an opportunity to see all of their works at the Ridgway Mills Campground.
Liz Boni, who is one of the architects of the Rendezvous along with her husband, Rick, and other family members, gave great feedback about how this year went.
“The event was spectacular,” Boni said. “We had carvers all from all over the states and the world and everyone loves the set up at the Ridgway Mills Campground.”
Although Boni could not confirm an exact number, she observed that this could have been a record crowd for the event over its twenty plus year history.
“Each year brings something new and different to the Rendezvous,” Boni said.
There were a number of visitors that had never been to the wood carving classic and voiced their enthusiasm for the event, according to Boni.
The Ridgway Chainsaw Carvers Rendezvous presents an attractive opportunity for local businesses in Ridgway, and this followed the same theme once again.
“We hear about the hotels being full and the bars and restaurants doing well when the Rendezvous is going on,” Boni said. “The foot traffic is a welcome sight and adds to the ambiance of our community.”
Boni thanked all of the sponsors of the event, the support of local businesses, and other entities who made this event possible.
The Ridgway Chainsaw Carving Rendezvous has become one of the most recognized carving events in the world and continues to embody what the community of Ridgway is all about.
