Carmen V. Soto, 91, entered into eternal rest surrounded by her loving family on August 18, 2018. She was born in Julimas, Chihuahua, Mexico. In heaven Carmen joins her adored husband Logino Soto her children, Esperanza, Adam, Eva and Pablo Ramon Soto who joined his family exactly 10 day after his mother’s passing.
Carmen leaves behind a beautiful legacy, her children, Maria Antonia Villegas (Vicente), Lorenzo Soto all of Manteca and Carmen Soto Moreno (Raymond) of Sacramento. She was blessed with 12 grandchildren, Felix Villegas, Margarita “Margie” Castenada, Esperanza Soto, Patricia A. Arcos, Martha Villegas, Gabriel Villegas, Norma A. Rodriguez, Lupita Anaya, Olga Anaya, David Soto, Raymond Moreno and Analicia Moreno. She leaves 16 great grandchildren, Josh and Jessica Villegas, Yvette Calzado, Adriana Castaneda, Christopher and Christina Arcos, Robert, Adam, Jordan Jennings, Gabriel, Victor and Eva Villegas, Melina Moreno (on the way), Adan, Joshua and Zuni Hernandez. Carmen also has 18 great great grandchildren and 1 great great great. In addition she leaves siblings, Lupe Villescas and Roberto Villescas of Mexico.
Carmen was a Manteca resident since 1963. She originally made way to Manteca from El Paso, Texas with her young family. She was extremely hard working as she would follow the seasonal harvest throughout California. She would later stay home with her children and loved helping to raise her grandchildren.
Carmen’s house was authentic making it home to everyone who entered. No one would go hungry! You would leave with a good laugh a story from her childhood and a warm hug. She kept her faith close to her heart and would teach her family to do the same. She and her husband shared the truest testimonies of love. Carmen’s heritage will continue throughout her family and her blessings will forever live on.
P.L. Fry and Son is honored to serve the Soto family. A visitation will be held on Thursday, August 30, 2018 from 1:00pm to 8:00pm with a Rosary 7:00pm at P.L. Fry and Son Funeral Home, 290 North Union Road, Manteca. Mass will be held on Friday, August 31, 2018 at 11:00 am at P.L. Fry and Son Funeral Home, 290 North Union Road, Manteca, CA. She will be laid to rest at St. John’s Catholic Cemetery, 17871 S. Carrolton Road, Escalon (behind St. Patrick’s Church). The family would like to extend an invitation to close family and friends to continue celebrating her life at the VFW HALL, 220 E. Yosemite Ave. Manteca after the graveside services.
