The Final Programmatic Environmental Impact Report (EIR) for the 2018 Regional Transportation Plan/Sustainable Communities Strategy (RTP/ SCS) for the Stanislaus Council of Governments (StanCOG) is now accessible. Those interested in viewing the document can access it via the following link: rtpscs-peir.pdf.

The Final EIR provides written responses to com- ments that were received on the Draft EIR and makes edits to the Draft EIR text, as necessary. The Final EIR also includes the Mitigation Monitoring and Reporting Program (MMRP) for the 2018 RTP/SCS. The Draft 2018 RTP/SCS Programmatic Environmental Impact Report (PEIR) is available online at 2018- rtpscs-peir.pdf.

The StanCOG Policy Board will consider certifi- cation of the Final EIR at a public meeting scheduled for 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 15 at 1111 I St., Suite 308, Modesto.

Those with questions can contact the StanCOG office at 209-525-4600.

StanCOG is the Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) for the Stanislaus Region as designated by the Federal gov- ernment, and the Regional Transportation Planning Agency (RTPA) as designated by the State of California. It is responsible for developing and updating a variety of transportation plans and for allocating the federal and state funds to implement them. While regional transportation planning is its primary role, StanCOG is also involved in other issues that affect the entire region such as air quality. StanCOG provides the forum that brings mayors, city council members and county supervi- sors together to work on regional issues in a setting that promotes the involvement of the public in the planning process for the Stanislaus region.
