Reto Sterchi

Last year Sterchi, a portrait and documentary photographer in L.A., attended his first Bonneville Speed Week, where he met engine builder Kenny Duttweiler. For this issue, Sterchi photographed Duttweiler at his shop in Saticoy, California (page 024). “Just hearing him talk about his craft made it clear that he’s a genius,” the photographer says. When Sterchi isn’t shooting or obsessing over Formula 1 (“Go, Lewis!”) and muscle cars (his dream car: a 1970 Dodge Challenger R/T), he can be found reading a Western or walking his dog.
