The Nissan GT-R is a technologi­cal powerhouse, yet its heartbeat is still created by human hands. Five specially trained technician­s, known as takumi, are individual­ly responsibl­e for assembling and testing each twin-turbo 3.8-liter V-6 that powers a GT-R. A single worker spends nine hours on the engine, then affixes a plate bearing his signature.
