The Nissan GT-R is a technological powerhouse, yet its heartbeat is still created by human hands. Five specially trained technicians, known as takumi, are individually responsible for assembling and testing each twin-turbo 3.8-liter V-6 that powers a GT-R. A single worker spends nine hours on the engine, then affixes a plate bearing his signature.
