Yahia Nazroo
Nazroo splits his time between two professions: lawyer and photographer. As the former, he’s a specialist in all legal matters related to betting; as the latter, his work has been featured in publications around the world. For this issue, he captured the dynamic racing scene on the pristine isle of Mauritius, where he’s based.
It’s something he’s been doing from a very young age (“Hitting the Trifecta,” p. 116). “I have been privileged to photograph races since 1994, when I was still a schoolkid,” he says. “Every Saturday was spent with a camera and a roll of film—as it was then—to photograph every race.”
