clocking in at just 29 minutes, Ramones is a complete rejection of the spangled artifice of Seventies rock. Songs like “Beat on the Brat” and “Now I Wanna Sniff Some Glue” were fast and anti-social, just like the band, driven by guitarist Johnny Ramone’s buzz-saw chords. But Joey Ramone’s leather-tender plea “I Wanna Be Your Boyfriend” showed that even punks need love.
