Jack Walsh has to do is bring Mob accountant Jonathan “the Duke” Mardukas from New York to L.A. to collect $100,000. Sounds simple, except that the duo are being chased cross-country by thugs, feds, and a helicopter filled with hit men. And with that, Robert De Niro, Charles Grodin, and director Martin Brest deliver the blueprint and set the bar for the perfect action buddy-comedy.
