Flower Boy
A decade into their run, the juvenile gags and contrarianism that defined Odd Future were getting stale, and it was clear Tyler had a broader vision to offer. Flower Boy provided some much-needed maturity. “Boredom,” with its sublime orchestral flourishes, makes an enchanted wonderland out of ennui. “November” finds him talking about doing taxes, for Chrissakes. Safe to say the boy had flowered into a man.
