Seulgi Makes Her Bold Solo Move
SEULGI has been an established artist for years as part of the Korean girl group Red Velvet. Getting a chance to show off your own voice isn’t always easy in the regimented world of K-pop, but she proves she’s more than up to the task on her debut solo EP, 28 Reasons — The 1st Mini Album. “With experience, you gain the ability to be more relaxed,” Seulgi recently told Rolling Stone’s Kristine Kwak. On 28 Reasons, she sinks her teeth into sweet dance pop (“Anywhere But Home”) and tough R&B (“Dead Man Runnin’), dropping lines like “I kiss your brother/I steal that heart,” effortlessly flossing like a natural-born gangster of love.
