Images of Strength and Solidarity From Puerto Rico

Colombian photographer Camila Falquez wanted to bring the bright authenticity of Puerto Rico to the pages of Rolling Stone when she photographed reggaeton stars Villano Antillano, Paopao, RaiNao, Chesca, and Young Miko (“Llena de Poder,” page 40). “I wanted to show how comfortable these women are and how supported they are by their friends and family,” Falquez says. Working closely with each artist was crucial: “They were all very concerned about the power that was transmitted,” she adds. “Even in the group shot, they wanted [the images] to feel very powerful.”
