Armuchee man arrested in Bartow

An Armuchee man was arrested in Bartow County on Monday night after he allegedly tried to break into a home, according to a news release from the Bartow County Sheriff’s Office.

According to the release:

Deputies were dispatched to a Jones Mill Road residence at about 6: 40 p. m. in response to a burglary in progress.

When they arrived, deputies found Corey Biggers, 24, of Armuchee, lying down on the ground being held at gunpoint by a neighbor who called in the crime.

Deputies discovered that the Good Samaritan neighbor had witnessed Biggers drive slowly by the residence after the homeowners had left and then back into the driveway, leaving his truck running.

The neighbor called the homeowners who said no one should be at their home, and then he confronted Biggers and held him at gunpoint until deputies arrived.

Once the homeowners returned, it was discovered that Biggers had removed a bag of change from the home prior to being detained.

Biggers’ truck was impounded, and he was arrested and has been booked into the Bartow County jail on one count of burglary.
