Redmond names COO
Trammell is former CEO of Cherokee, Ala., Medical Center
Patrick Trammell is taking the reins as Redmond Regional Medical Center’s new chief operating officer, hospital officials announced Friday.
Trammell replaces Beemal Shah, who accepted an offer from a private company he helped launch.
“I’ve known Patrick for many years,” said Redmond CEO John Quinlivan. “I consider him a good friend and am excited by this opportunity to work with him. I have every confidence he’ll do an outstanding job.”
Trammell is a graduate of the University of West Florida. He received a master of business administration as well as a master of health administration from the University of Alabama, Birmingham.
Most recently, he served as CEO of Cherokee Medical Center in Centre, Ala. Prior to that, he held a number of increasingly responsible positions with Community Health Systems, at Trinity Medical Center in Birmingham, Ala., and Lake Granbury Medical Center in Hood County, Texas.
Trammell, his wife Stephanie Trammell, and their three daughters are in the process of relocating to Rome.
“Redmond has a strong reputation for providing quality health care services,” he said. “I am honored to join this team of dedicated health care professionals. My family and I look forward to moving to Rome and becoming a part of this great community.”
Trammell also previously worked with Hospital Corporation of America at North Florida Regional Medical Center and with Eastern Health System in Birmingham.
Redmond Regional Medical Center is a 230-bed facility.
Including its health care partners, the hospital has more than 245 physicians with more than 30 specialties and a support staff of approximately 1,300 associates.
