DRAGONS WRESTLING MOTORCYCLE RIDE — Pepperell high and middle school wrestling programs are joining to raise money through a motorcycle ride Saturday. Registrati­on begins at 9 a.m. and the ride will leave at 10 a.m. from the old Pepperell High gym. The cost is $25 plus $5 for a passenger, and the cost includes a T-shirt and a hot dog lunch with chip and drinks. SLOW PITCH SOFTBALL TOURNAMENT — There will be a slow pitch softball tournament Saturday at Riverside Park. ASA rules will apply to the one-up/ single round robin tournament. The entry fee is $125. For details contact Jeff at 706-233-2434.

BASEBALL TRYOUTS — The Future Athletics, a Rome-based baseball training and travel ball organizati­on, will have tryouts for 6-and-younger and 8and-younger May 31 at Etowah Park. DAVID BEASLEY BASEBALL CAMP — The David Beasley Baseball Camp will take place June 2-5 from 9 a.m. to noon. The cost is $120. There will also be a father and son baseball camp for ages six to 14 (mothers, uncles, daughters, and any adult-child combinatio­n may attend). The cost is $200 and $50 for each additional child. The father and son camp will take place June from 3 to 6 p.m. and June 2-4 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

YMCA ARSENAL ROME SOCCER CLUB TRYOUTS — Tryouts for Rome YMCA Arsenal soccer will begin in June at Grizzard Park for players whose birthday is after Aug. 1, 2002. Academy tryouts will be June 3 from 6 to 9 p.m. and June 7 from 9 a.m. to noon. For older players, select tryouts are June 5 and June 10 from 6 to 9 p.m. It costs $25, which includes T-shirt and insurance. 2014 HAWK BASEBALL CAMPS — The Shorter baseball team will offer three sessions of youth baseball camps for ages 4 to 14 at the fields at Riverview Park. Session 1: June 2-6; Session 2: June 9-13; Session 3: June 23-27. The camp times run from 8:30 a.m. to noon Monday through Friday. GHC BASEBALL ACADEMY — Georgia Highlands College will have a baseball academy for unsigned high school junior and seniors who are interested in playing for GHC. The academy will take place June 2 at the Cartersvil­le Baseball Complex. The cost per player is $85, and the event begins at 11 a.m. Those interested in attending should bring baseball practice clothes, shoes and a glove. DARLINGTON TENNIS CAMP — The Adidas tennis camp at Darlington School will be June 1-6 and June 8-13. The cost is $195 for a half day, $350 for a full day and $790 for overnight. BERRY SUMMER SOCCER CAMPS — Berry College will host summer soccer camps June 2-6 (day camp for boys and girls ages six to 12), June 9-13 (day camp for boys ages 10 to 18) and July 6-9 (overnight and commuter camp for boys ages 10-18). Day camps run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and lunch is provided. The camps are good for beginners or experience­d young players. ROME WOLVES 18TH ANNUAL YOUTH FOOTBALL CAMP — The Rome Wolves 18th annual youth football camp will take place June 2-5 from 9 a.m. to noon. The instructio­nal camp will be for ages six to 14. The cost is $60. The camp will teach the basic skills and fundamenta­ls of football. Instructio­n will be provided by the Rome High coaching staff and players. Campers will receive a free T-shirt, and the first 50 to sign up will receive a free football. COOSA JUNIOR EAGLE YOUTH BASKETBALL CAMP — Coosa High School will have its boys youth basketball camp for players entering the second grade through eighth grade June 2-5 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. each day. BERRY SOFTBALL PITCHING CLINIC — The Berry College pitching clinic will take place June 16 from 6 to 8 p.m. The cost is $40. The clinic is designed for all levels of pitchers and will focus on proper pitching mechanics and all pitches. Campers will be separated based on skill level. NORTHWEST GEORGIA JUNIOR GOLF TOURNAMENT — The second Club-Y Northwest Georgia Junior Golf Tournament will take place June 18-19 at Fields Ferry Golf Club in Calhoun. The 36-hole (18 holes for 11-and-younger age groups) tournament is open to all male and female junior golfers ages 10 to 18. Golfers will be flighted in each age group. TUMOR TROOPER RUN/WALK — The Tumor Trooper run/walk will take place July 19 at Richard B. Russell Regional Airport. Registrati­on begins at 5 p.m. The 5K race is set to start at 7 p.m. with the one-mile walk starting at 8 p.m. The event raises money to help children with brain tumors.
