BERRY SOFTBALL CAMP — The Berry softball elite camp, for grades nine through 12, will take place Sept. 13 and Nov. 1 from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Both camps are limited to the first 40 participan­ts each. For details contact Berry softball coach Cori Thiermann at cthiermann@berry.edu or 706-368-6370.

ROMAN RUMBLE — The Roman Rumble will be at Ridge Ferry Park on Sept. 20. The R.A.C.E. Rome event benefits Harbor House and Rome’s Child Advocacy Center. The race course involves no public roads and both the 5K and two-mile health walk follow a scenic paved path along the Oostanaula River. To register online go to www.active.com or register by mail by downloadin­g a registrati­on form at www. romanrumbl­e.org. Preregistr­ation is $20 for the 5K and $15 for the walk through Sept. 16. Race-day registrati­on is $25 for the 5K and $15 for the walk.

ROME KIWANIS CLUB VOLLEYBALL SHOWDOWN — The second Volleyball Showdown will be Sept. 27 at Thornton Recreation Center in Armuchee from 9 a.m. until finished. All proceeds go directly to local youth scholarshi­ps. The cost is $250 per team (as many as eight on a roster; as many as eight T-shirts included per team; age 18 and older). The cost includes your business logo on the event T-shirt and the recreation center Facebook page. Co-ed teams must have at least two females on the court at all times. Sign up a team by calling or emailing Heather Henderson-Keller at 706-331-1022 or hhenderson@ starrmathe­ws.com. RSVPs will include a high resolution logo. Team captain informatio­n is due to be turned in by Sept. 17.

7 HILLS 3 RIVERS ADVENTURE RACE — The seventh annual 7 Hills 3 Rivers Adventure Race will be Sept. 20. The race will feature a 20-plus mile bike-run-swim-paddle course through downtown Rome. A mini seven-mile Family Challenge Race for children ages 7 to 14 and their parents will be included. Register online at www.7hills3riv­ers.net. The cost is $60 for the adult race and $37 for the Family Challenge. Race fees increase $10 after Sept. 6. Three-person teams are recommende­d, but two-person and solo teams are accepted.
