SUNDAY

The American Legion Auxiliary Unit 52 will have a barbecue and yard sale Sunday and Monday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. (rain or shine) at 1205 Calhoun Avenue. Plates are $5 and will include a barbecue pork sandwich, chips, pickles and a drink. Brunswick stew will be sold for $3 per cup, $4 per pint, $8 per quart and $30 per gallon. MONDAY

The Knights of Columbus Labor Day barbecue feast at the Rome Civic Center is set for Monday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. or until sold out.

Tickets for a barbecue plate or take-out barbecue are $9 and come with a $1-off coupon to the Rome Braves-Savannah Sand Gnats game beginning at 1 p.m. Monday, while supplies last.

Tickets are good for the following: a plate filled with pork, beef, ribs or chicken, Brunswick stew, baked beans, chips and roll, or one pound of beef, or a quart of Brunswick stew. Other options are a sandwich combo or half-chicken for $5, and a half-rack/four pounds of spare ribs for $18.

The barbecue tickets are available at Saint Mary’s Catholic Church or from any member of the Knights of Columbus or at the Civic Center at the day of the event.
