Ms. Patricia Ann Hayes Edmondson was born on June 18, 1943, in Rome, Georgia to the late Samuel Hayes and the late Louise Thompson. Ms. Edmondson peacefully made her transition into God’s presence on July 21, 2015, at her residence surrounded by her family.

Patricia (or to most, Ms. Ann), received her education in the Rome, Floyd County School system at Main High School. She was a faithful and dedicated employee of Rome Cleaners for many years where reluctantl­y retired due to declining health issues.

Awaiting her arrival with open arms are her father Samuel Hayes; mother, Louise Thompson and her husband Charles Edmondson; sister, Grace Elkins; brother, Rhunda Hayes; great grandson, Cornelius Brown, Jr.; and nephew, James Wood.

She leaves to cherish her memories and carry on her legacy, two lovely daughters, Sandra Cunningham, and Reecie (Rodney) Jackson; three sons, Scott Hayes, Thurman (Ernestine) Cunningham Jr., and Jeffery Edmondson; two brothers, Tony Almond, and Leo Hayes; three sisters, Betty Wood, Cleo Mooring, and Francis Thompson; 14 grandchild­ren; 24 great grandchild­ren; four special friends, Regina Byars, David Windom, Versie Jackson and Shelia Perkins. A host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2015, at 2 PM at Wright Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Charles Moses officiatin­g. At other hours, the family may be contacted at her residence, 105 Pine St., Rome.

Mr. Horace D. McDaniel, age 84, of Rome passed away Tuesday July 28, 2015 in a Rome Medical Center.

Mr. McDaniel was born November 18, 1930, in Cherokee County, Alabama, a son of the late Dave A. McDaniel, and Emma Comer McDaniel. He was of the Baptist Faith, and retired from General Electric after over 25 years of service. Mr. McDaniel was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Pilcher McDaniel, son, David Wayne McDaniel, brothers, Harper McDaniel, Hudon McDaniel, sisters, Annie Tant, Minnie McDaniel, Margaret Trapp, and Louise Brownlow.

Survivors include, daughters, Sheryl (Jimmy) Powell, Rome; Jan Phillips, Rome; Melinda (Russell) Forbes, Pittsview, Al; sister in law, Mary “Boots” McDaniel, Rome; 11 grandchild­ren, 9 great grandchild­ren, several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 3:30 P.M. Friday July 31, 2015 at Parnick Jennings, Sr.’s Good Shepherd Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Frank Wood and Dr. Phil Patterson, officiatin­g. Interment will follow in Oaknoll Memorial Gardens. The family will received friends from 6 until 8 p.m. on Thursday at Parnick Jennings, Sr.’s Good Shepherd Funeral Home, 2750 Shorter Ave. Rome, Ga. 30165.

Pallbearer­s include the following gentlemen, Jimmy Brownlow Donnie Brownlow, Barry Murdock, Steve Powell, Phil McDaniel, Glen Popham, Steve Suggs, Scott Suggs, Blake Suggs, Michael Trapp, Paul Padgett IV, Kenny Keith, Ted Goss, Craig McDaniel, and Chris McDaniel.
