A Back to School Bash/Rummage Sale will be at the offices of Dr. Raj Miniyar, 140 Three Rivers Drive, from 8 a.m. until noon Saturday. All proceeds will benefit the House of Compassion, a temporary shelter for homeless families. Food and boutique-style vendors will be on hand along with a bouncy house for children. There will be a dunking booth, which will be manned at times by Miniyar, Steve and LaDonna Turrentine, principals at Armuchee Middle School and Johnson Elementary School respectively, and others. The Laurel District of The Garden Club of Georgia Inc. and Rome

Federated Garden Clubs Inc. are sponsoring Gardening Study Schools Course I Tuesday through Thursday at Westminster Presbyterian Church. The courses are for gardening enthusiasts and those interested in becoming National Garden Club-accredited gardening consultants. The cost is $65.
